Sculpturing

Canadian Artists

Dale Dziwenka

Dale Dziwenka is a sculpting artist from Victoria, BC. He sculpts with the materials, wood, steel and stone. Dziwenka's work displays distorted human movements. To the left you can visualize his sculpture as a person holding a phone to their head. To the right you can visualize a man walking in a awkward position. His artwork really turns heads. His significance and uniqueness of human activity is astonishing. He demonstrates aspects of life, hope and humanity. Dziwenka has deepness in his work, showing expressions of our existence or so he believes.

Micheal Binkley

Micheal Binkley is a famous stone sculptor. Born in 1960, Binkley has became one of Canada's most successful self represented artists by the 1990's. His artwork is truly breathtaking. He creates quite simple work out of the material but it has a lot of meaning. Binkley is a self taught artist and strives to seduce the viewer's eye. Binkley's inspiration started when he encountered the four unfinished "Captives" by the famous artist Michealangelo. Ever since then his soul began to shape as an artist. Binkley has been going to art shows ever since 1981. He now owns a studio gallery and sculpture garden in North Vancouver, BC. You can purchase his artwork online at

Sculptures

Above we have two sculpture or statues of a woman and The 16th President of the United States.

What is a sculpture? Sculptures can be created and formed in various ways. Sculptures can be made to represent a form by carving or casting or other means of constructing the work. You can sculpt with various materials, clay, stone, metal, ceramics, wood and so much more. Sculpturing is one of the plastic arts. Plastic arts is an art form that involves physical manipulation or means of displaying joints, spinal alignments and tissues. There are realistic sculptures of people and sculptures of animals, places and much more. Sculptures are three-dimensional, you can walk around and view different angles at each side. This art form is linked to cultures, memorials and religions, an example of this is the crucifix. Sculptures were very famous during the Greek period. In Greece they created full body profiles of their Gods, rulers and also some mythical creatures. Sculptures are fascinating works of art.
